A pair of RAF D type electric flying gloves. These D type gloves are the heated liners for the World War II D type leather flying gauntlet and are intended to be attached to the Sidcot suit by the 2 press stud fasteners which also carry the current, as shown on page 107 and 109 of Mick Prodger’s Luftwaffe Versus The RAF Flying Clothing. These gloves are made by Windak, a company that made all manner of RAF electrically heated flying clothing, casualty blankets and hand muffs. They are size medium and are marked 24 volt. The gloves are made of black silk with a wool lining. They are in mint condition with absolutely no mothing and beautifully clean and, even more surprising, are a matched pair. They were commonly worn by all Bomber and Fighter crews as they were available for a 12 and 24 volt system. Rare to find a clean pair of electric flying gloves. Please note I send to all countries worldwide except Italy. Sefton Clothing Company are pleased to able to offer this item for sale.
